The pupil premium is an allocation of funding provided to schools to support children who may be vulnerable to underachievement. The amount received is dependent on the number of children who receive free school meals. All schools are required to report on the amount of funding and how this is being used.
For the year 2016-2017, Everton Lower School has been allocated £1,320 to spend on initiatives to ensure that children eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant reach their full potential – academically, socially, emotionally and behaviourally.
For this academic year we have allocated the money in the following way:
• Materials to support the implementation of Phonics intervention groups
• Intervention groups for literacy and numeracy
• Funding for extra-curricular visits and clubs
If your child does not have Free School Meals, but may be eligible because of your family’s income level, please contact the school office (in confidence) to register them.
Even if you do not wish your child to have the meals, this would mean the school could still claim Pupil Premium funding that may be used to help your child.
