New Classrooms transform our school
23rd September 2021
We are delighted to have started term with two new classrooms on the site of the old swimming pool. These are being used by our Year 3/4 and our Year 5/6 classes and everyone who visits them says 'wow!'
It also means we have been able to move populs in pre-school, reception and Key Stage 1 into bigger spaces in the original building and there is now a proper reception area for visitors and a dedicated space where children can eat lunch and enjoy indoor PE activities.
Headteacher Aileen Russell said: “Today we have a school that began its journey in 1837 and we have brought it right up to date with a 2021 architecturally-designed, purpose-built addition.
“Our new build has just been a wonderful addition to the school. Everyone who has seen it has initially responded with a ‘wow’!
“We now have so much more space than we anticipated, and each class has been able to move into a new area because of this. The children have all settled into their new classes and are delighted with their surroundings.
“Many thanks go to The Cam Academy Trust, Governors, Staff and Parents for their support and patience throughout the Summer Term.”
