Music

At Everton Heath Primary School, music is taught so that it engages and inspires pupils to develop a love and appreciation for music that they can carry with them into their future lives.

Throughout the children’s time at EHPS, their lessons will focus on a range of genres, delve into different historical periods, compare and discuss different styles and traditions from around the globe.

We relish in giving the children a chance to enjoy music in as many ways as they can, as a listener, performer or a creator in the hope that we can teach our children to be curious and creative learners and in turn develop their confidence.

The lessons are planned and taught based on three strands which are: listening, composing and performing. This allows the children to gain an insight into the many different elements.

To enhance our music curriculum, we offer our children a performers club and external opportunities to play a range of instruments with Rocksteady. We also actively take part in the Young Voices trip, and we also have assemblies where the children can come together to share their love for singing and music as a whole school.
