Transition / Moving on

Pre-School to Primary

We have strong links with all our feeder Pre-School, Evertots. We also have a comprehensive induction programme, which ensures that children begin their journey with us confident and happy. If you wish for your child to attend our school, you need to apply through the county admissions service.

Primary to Secondary

At the end of Year 6 families have the choice of moving on to secondary schools in Central Bedfordshire or Cambridgeshire. Sandy Secondary School is the closest 11-18 establishment and transport will be provided free of charge to students attending there from Everton.

Stratton Upper School in Biggleswade is available for students from Year 9 so if this is your choice, your child will normally attend a middle school for Years 7 and 8. The nearest middle schools are Biggleswade Academy and Edward Peake Middle School, Biggleswwade.

Parents can apply for their child to attend Comberton, Cambourne or Bassingbourn VIllage Colleges in Cambridgeshire. Currently there is no free transport to any of these schools but Comberton run a service from Potton and Gamlingay and Bassingbourn has a pick-up in Potton. There is a charge for using these buses.

All these schools hold open evenings during the first half of the Autumn term and you can attend as many as you wish before submitting your application by the government's October 31st deadline. You have the opportuniity to rank a choice of three schools and will find out in the spring term which school your child has been allocated.

During Year 6 our pupils will attend a variety of transition events to help give them confidence for when the time comes to move on.
